Help shaping chest and other body parts?

Hello im a 16 year old teen about 185( and loosing due to atkins diet) i want to get down to about 150-155. I have been going to the gym steady about 3 weeks and i feel results since im still over weight i cant really see new muscle but i can feel it for sure. I started the vertical press at 65 and am now up to 105. I feel a change in my arms from the various arm workouts but still dont feel a differance in my chest area. I weight lift about 4 times a week. Usually ill work on weight lifting one day and if i dont feel sore the next day i will do it again and add weight and thats how its been going thus far. Im almost never sore the next day and so I keep adding weight every day is this ok? Am i trying to shape my chest and other body parts wrong by doing it this way? Should i maybe workout til im sore and then take a break the next day and continue like that?
