Is this liable for trademark infringement?

Generally for this other guy to have grounds for a cease & desist, not only do the names and/or logos have to be very similar, they have to be "likely to cause confusion" to the public. If the businesses are close in what they provide, there could be confusion. However, I think the lawyer you spoke with is correct. This guy's trying to push you around but nicely. Let him send the C&D letter and have him prove that you're infringing. I think you're still good as long as you registered your name and/or logo.
