Was Jesus Christ really God's "Son"?

If there is truly a God out there, he has to be fairly intelectual to have created a universe so complex. Everything about existence, life, time, and space are mathematically perfect, systematically right, and extremely complex. From our eye to the atmosphere to teh way planets as close together as Mars and Earth could orbit the same sun without bumping into one another. So clearly God is quite intellectual. How does a being beyond genius status come to earth in the form of an emotional and sensitive Jesus Christ? Everything we have read about him says everything BUT him being brainy or intellectual. He had teachings, but that's not intellect. I like to believe that there is some sort of a higher power but it's tough to believe Jesus Christ is God because what God has created is so complex and mathematically perfect, yet Jesus Christ didn't show any of those characteristics, just "I am this and that, worship me or I will burn you in hell"....where is the scientist within him?
